The Devil is Bad

"Cause you are the devil and the devil is bad You are the devil and the devil is bad You are the devil and the devil is bad You are the devil, and you are bad" ~ The Ws, " The Devil is Bad " Recently, there have been a lot of mass shootings, and therefore a lot of media coverage about mass shootings. Each time we hear of another senseless tragedy, there are always people clamoring for stricter gun control laws, as though criminals actually obey laws. (For my theory of what should actually be controlled to fix this scenario, please see my post SHUT IT OFF! ) What nobody seems to talk about, but everyone should, is that the true issue lies far deeper. Gun laws aren't the problem. Mental health care (or lack thereof) is not the problem. Not even overexcessive media coverage is actually the problem. The real problem is evil, and that comes straight from the Devil himself. We run a dangerous risk when we refuse to acknowledge Satan's presence in our live...

SHUT IT OFF!

"On and on it goes Till all of us are sucked in. So shut it off and see We're missing out on living."~Barlowgirl, " Time for You to Go " Chances are, you've heard that there was yet another school shooting on May 18 in Santa Fe, Texas. You've probably also heard the call for more gun control in the wake of it, as happens every single time an event like this occurs. However, the more I think about the recent epidemic of mass shootings, the more I think that there is another possible solution to the whole problem, a solution that even if it's been thought of before, has never been reported, and for a very good reason. That solution is less news coverage, and the media would never report it because they are the perpetrators. I'm not saying that there should be no news coverage at all, especially not locally. People need to know what's going on, especially if they are local to the incident. However, covering it in other places, to the dept...

Thoughts on Recent Tragedies

Murder of Christina Grimmie: I was shocked when I first heard about this, and became even more shocked when I discovered that her death was not part of the mass shooting. As a longtime fan of The Voice, I remembered when she was on, and though she was not my favorite artist that season, she did have a good voice. Since her death, I have learned about her faith, and am even more saddened by what happened. A bright light was snuffed out that night by a crazed fan, but fortunately, her family is not going to let her legacy die with her. We shouldn't either. Mass Shooting in Orlando: This was horrible, but what's even more horrible is how some have responded to it. Most people have responded appropriately, but there have been some who have missed the point, and sadly, too many of these people have been fellow Christians. Some have called for stricter gun control. What these people fail to understand is that the gun itself is not what killed these people: it was the terrorist ...
